How this calculator works
Choose raise-percentage-known or new-salary-known mode.
Primary result is new annual salary (percentage mode) or raise percentage (new-salary mode). Secondary results include annual, monthly, and weekly equivalent increases.
Formula / methodology
annualIncrease = current × raise% newSalary = current + annualIncrease raise% = (new − current) / current monthly = annualIncrease / 12 weekly = annualIncrease / 52
- Monthly and weekly values are calendarized annual equivalents, not paycheck-specific amounts.
- Only non-negative raises are modeled. A new salary below current is rejected with a clear validation message.
Worked example
$75,000 current salary with a 10% raise → $7,500 annual increase → $82,500 new salary; monthly increase $625; weekly ≈ $144.23.
Reverse: $75,000 → $82,500 recovers a 10% raise.
Important assumptions
- Gross-pay estimates before taxes, deductions, benefits, overtime, bonuses, or other compensation.
- Raise percentage mode allows 0% through a sensible maximum (500%).
Common questions
No. If the new salary is below current, validation rejects it. This tool is for non-negative raises only.
Not necessarily. Weekly is annual increase ÷ 52. Paycheck amounts depend on your employer’s pay frequency.
Yes. For valid inputs, percentage → new salary → reverse recovers the original percentage within floating-point tolerance, and vice versa.
